DESCRIPTION:Koffi North is Palm Springs is a lovely place to draw.  Their outdoor courtyard is surrounded by interesting buildings\, colorful flowers\, and lots of people and dogs.  There are lots of movable tables and chairs so you can find a good vantage point from which to draw.  There is nearby street parking and a large free parking lot on Alejo just west of Palm Canyon.  Meet outside near the door to the courtyard at the rear of Koffi. \nUsually the weather in the desert cooperates with scheduled sketch events\, however it’s a good idea to check this listing the day of the event in case it has to be cancelled because of rain\, wind\, or other unforeseen conditions.  Any changes or cancellations will be posted by 7 am. DESCRIPTION:Come sketch at Sunnylands Center & Gardens in Rancho Mirage. Admission and parking are free and tickets/reservations are not required. \nMeet at the benches to the right of the main entrance to the Sunnylands Center at 1 PM. I will be there with my beige straw hat and a sketchbook. There will be a few minutes for introductions\, then we will go off to sketch\, with a final get together at 3 PM to show our sketches and talk about our drawing experience.  Sunnylands can get busy so it’s a good idea to arrive a little early to find parking. \nSunnylands is a 15 acre site with several gardens featuring native plants. There are walking paths and views of the mountains. The modernist Sunnylands building houses exhibitions\, a cafe\, and a gift shop. There are opportunities to sketch gardens\, water features\, the building\, and people\, as Sunnylands is a popular destination for visitors to the valley.
