DESCRIPTION:Come sketch at Sunnylands Center & Gardens in Rancho Mirage. Admission and parking are free and tickets/reservations are not required. \nMeet at the benches to the right of the main entrance to the Sunnylands Center at 1 PM. I will be there with my beige straw hat and a sketchbook. There will be a few minutes for introductions\, then we will go off to sketch\, with a final get together at 3 PM to show our sketches and talk about our drawing experience.  Sunnylands can get busy so it’s a good idea to arrive a little early to find parking. \nSunnylands is a 15 acre site with several gardens featuring native plants. There are walking paths and views of the mountains. The modernist Sunnylands building houses exhibitions\, a cafe\, and a gift shop. There are opportunities to sketch gardens\, water features\, the building\, and people\, as Sunnylands is a popular destination for visitors to the valley. La Plaza is lined with Spanish style buildings covered with Bougainvillea. Walk a few steps in any direction and you will find something to draw.
