DESCRIPTION:This four-acre garden features 14 large-scale works by modern and contemporary sculptors including Donald Judd\, Gio Pomodoro\, Jesús Bautista Moroles\, Dan Namingha\, and Betty Gold\, sited among more than 60 native and drought-tolerant plants and winding water features.  It is adjacent to the Artist Council Art Center where there is parking. There are some benches\, but a stool is handy for choosing your vantage point.

SUMMARY:Sketch at Andreas Canyon at Indian Canyons
DESCRIPTION:Come draw at Andreas Canyon in Indian Canyons. Andreas Canyon is an easy one mile trail that winds through a California Fan Palm oasis around Andreas Creek. Within a short walk from the parking lot you can find towering palms\, rock formations\, and flowing water. There are picnic tables scattered through the area as well as rocks to perch on while drawing. You can walk the trail a little ways for vistas with wild flowers and distant hills. There is an admission fee to enter Indian Canyons (Adult $12/ Senior $7). Once past the entry kiosk\, watch for the turn to Andreas Canyon on your right. Follow the turn to the parking lot. Meet at the trailhead sign at 10 am. Bring water\, snacks\, and a hat. There are porta-potties at the parking lot.

DESCRIPTION:Come sketch at the entrance to the Old Las Palmas neighborhood in Palm Springs.  Meet at the free public parking lot on the corner of W Chino Dr. and Belardo.  This neighborhood is full of estates\, many of them are surrounded by walls and elegant gates.  Be prepared to walk a little to find something to draw. This neighborhood contains some of the homes of stars\, including Liberace’s and Clark Gable’s former estates.  Bring a stool so you can find a place to sit and draw.

SUMMARY:Sketch the Cabazon Dinosaurs
DESCRIPTION:Come sketch the world famous Cabazon dinosaurs\, a roadside attraction featuring two enormous steel-and-concrete dinosaurs\, a 150-foot-long brontosaurus and a 65-foot-tall tyrannosaurus rex set against the backdrop of the mountains. The two large dinosaurs are free to view while the nearby Dinosaur Museum houses many more dinosaurs with an admission of $11 – $15. Meet in front of the brontosaurus at 10 AM \nThis area is a typical desert roadside with defunct fast food restaurants\, gas stations\, power lines\, big skies\, mountain views\, but with two big cheesy dinosaurs. This will flex your sketching skills. There is a large parking lot by the dinos. A stool is recommended so you have a place to sit as you sketch. It is cooler in Cabazon than the low desert so bring a jacket.  It can be very windy in  Cabazon so check this listing the day of the event to check if it is still on. \nThe dinosaurs are a 30 minute drive from downtown Palm Springs and about ten minutes from the Cabazon outlets.
